She has always believed in fairies, but now this mother-of-two says she has found evidence the magical creatures really do exist.
Lisa Wildgoose was taking photographs in the ancient Bluebell Woods near Towcester, Northampton, when she captured the extraordinary image that appears to show a tiny winged figure hovering near a drooping bluebell.
And when enlarged it looks like it has blonde hair and shiny shoes.
The 42-year-old only noticed the tiny fairy when she got home and was going through her day’s photographs.
“As a little girl I grew up believing in fairies and Tinkerbell is my favorite film so I would love it be a real-life fairy,” said Miss Wildgoose, who lives close to the woods with her twin daughters.
“I don't know if Tinkerbell would really wear trousers but with the blonde hair and shiny shoes it's too much of a coincidence.”
Miss Wildgoose, who works as a photographer, had been out in the woods doing a shoot for a family the day before and decided to return to do her own shoot the next day after seeing how beautiful the area was.
It was later that evening that she spotted what she believed to be a fairy and immediately called her twin girls, Mia and Madison, down to have a look.
The five-year-olds took one look at the image and said: “That's not a fly mum - that's a fairy.”
Miss Wildgoose said: “I was really shocked and freaked out at first. I thought it was probably just a fly, which it might well be, but when the girls saw it, there was no doubt in their mind.
“They don't have to try and convince me. In their mind their mum has always believed in fairies. They have often asked me if I believe and I always tell them I do - I suppose it's just the little girl in me that would love it to be true.
“People have said it's just a mosquito or a midge and they are probably right but I just think it's too much of a coincidence that it is wearing what looks like trousers and shoes.”
The amazing photograph has astounded friends and family of Miss Wildgoose, and even parents are coming up to her in the school playground.
“All the mums at the school have said it is a fairy - I think everyone just likes to believe in that bit of magic that reminds them of being a child,” she added. “It certainly made my day capturing the image.”
