A 30-year-old UK national named Jono Lancaster has an illness called Treacher Collins syndrome and he made an effort to meet a two year old from Australia who also have the same syndrome.
Treacher Collins is a condition which affects the development of bones and tissues in the face and affects 1 in 50,000 people around the world.
Jono Lancaster made a visit to a boy whose journey with Treacher Collins is just beginning, 2-year-old boy named Zackary Walton.
Lancaster flew from London to Australia to visit Zackary. Sarah Walton, mother of Zackary, contacted Lancaster in hopes that her son would one day meet a person who has same syndrome.
"I would have loved to have met somebody like myself when I was younger ..... somebody who had got a job, got a partner and said to me 'these are the things you can do, you can achieve'," Lancaster told Adelaide Now.
Last November 17, 2014, Jono Lancaster and Zackary Walton met for the first time and Lancaster uploaded a picture of them to his Facebook account with the caption: "Today and over the next couple of days i get to hang out with this little dude and his amazing family in beautiful Adelaide."
