You won’t believe this giant squid caught by a fisherman in Japan.
A very rare creature with a length of four meters or 13 feet and weighs 330 pounds found inside a fishing net off the coast of Sadogashima Island in Niigata Prefecture, Japan.
Shigenori Goto, a local fisherman, found the 13 feet long squid swimming in his net on Wednesday morning at around 7:00 am.
His net is made for catching yellow tails which he submerged to around 70 meters deep, around one kilometer off the nearest port. According to Mr. Goto, the squid died after being brought to the surface.
Researchers from the Marine Research Institute said that it was extremely rare for a live giant squid to be brought to the surface.
These amazing animals are creatures normally of the very deep sea, and are among the largest invertebrates in the world.
