Meet Noel Cruz, considered as one of the most versatile and distinguished repaint artist in the doll community.
He is most acknowledged for his amazing character and uncannily realistic celebrity dolls including actors from the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Twilight, Pirates of the Caribbean, comic book adaptations, and classic movies.
Noel grew up in Manila, Philippines. When he was about 12-years-old, he noticed the 1974 Miss Universe Pageant was playing in the neighbor’s house. That pageant inspired him to start drawing portraits because he was amazed to see the display of painted faces and gowns that are parading in the television set in front of him.

He was browsing online for a particular doll when he stumbled across hand-painted dolls. That’s when he decided to test his artistic creativity and make his own dolls.

Angelina Jolie[/caption]He also added that repaint is now form of pop art, wherein the doll’s face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area. Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

Ian Somerhalder[/caption]He uses acrylic paint and ultra-fine brushes to make factory standard dolls look more true to life, sometimes yielding uncanny results.
All his dolls now belong to the personal collections of their proud owners and it range anywhere from $500 to $4,000.
